Knack.ie is an Irish platform that connects customers looking for services with local professionals. Knack is operated by AMT Group. For privacy questions, contact hello@knack.ie.

When you post a request we collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Details of the job you need done, including the area
• Your request reference and records of the professionals your request was shared with

When you register as a professional we collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your business name, the services you offer and the areas you cover
• Your credit balance, unlocked leads and payment records
• Reviews you receive from customers, and your replies to them

We also collect standard technical information such as browser type and pages visited, and we use cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

We use your information to:

• Match your request with suitable local professionals and email you updates
• Let professionals see matching opportunities and unlock the contact details of customers they choose to work with
• Process credit purchases and keep records of transactions
• Verify phone numbers, prevent fraud and keep accounts secure
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries

When you post a request, the details needed to quote and contact you (your name, contact details and job description) are shared with professionals whose services and areas match your request, if they choose to unlock your lead. We tell you when a professional has your details.

We share payment information with our payment processor to handle card payments. We may also share information with service providers who host our systems or send emails on our behalf, and with authorities where the law requires it. We never sell your personal information.

We keep request and lead records while your account or request is active and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can handle follow-ups, disputes and legal obligations. Payment records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting rules.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to or ask us to limit how we use it. To make any of these requests, email hello@knack.ie. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission.

We use access controls so your information is only available to people who need it, and sensitive actions in the app run through checked, authenticated processes. No system is perfectly secure, but we review and improve our protections regularly.

If we change this policy we will update this page and the “last updated” date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you directly.
